EASL 095A Partnership is an interactive communicative seminar which connects English language learners with other students who are native English speakers for informal meetings. The ESL student and their partner meet once a week for conversation and sharing of cultures and interests. This seminar provides an opportunity to practice English in a one on one situation.
Corequisite: Current enrolment in the advanced English Language Program.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- use advertising and sales strategies to recruit students.
- liaise with partners on a weekly basis.
- complete a written journal about their meetings.
- report in a final presentation about their partnership experience.
Teaching and Learning Approach
Instructors in the English Language Program use a communicative approach to teaching and learning. Lessons
often include inter-active discussions, group work and reflection activities. Learner success in ELP courses is
often demonstrated in tests & quizzes, presentations, assignments and active participation. Assessments include
self and peer evaluations. The responsibility for learning is shared between the instructor and the student to
