SROM 155 Computer Applications supports students to gain digital confidence and practical technology skills for success in the tourism workplace. From creating professional documents and spreadsheets to navigating digital communication platforms, students will build the digital literacy needed for today’s connected world that reflects both accessible and culturally respectful practices. Hands-on activities emphasize practical tools to manage projects, communicate effectively, and market tourism experiences.

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Create professional workplace documents that incorporate cultural responsibility and basic accessibility standards
- Perform operational and financial tasks, such as budgets, costing, and simple forecasts, to demonstrate and test sustainable business scenarios
- Use digital collaboration tools professionally for system file management, shared workspaces, and assignment submissions
- Organize and share digital content securely and respectfully in support of professional practice and collaboration
- Apply digital ethics and content stewardship, including copyright, accessibility best practices, and respectful use of Indigenous and community materials when designing documents and communications for the tourism workplace
- Design accessible and culturally respectful presentations that support professional communication in tourism and destination management settings
