MUSC 256 Stage Performance Techniques I. Students will learn how to construct and organize a concert from A to Z. Students will have to produce arrangements for all instruments involved, and assume a leadership role in rehearsals. They will be required to perform a wide variety of music at their instrument.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. The students will gain experience in live performances by being exposed to a wide variety of musical styles and duplicate what they have learned into their own showcases.

Teaching and Learning Approach

Stage Performance Techniques is designed to deepen our understanding of all of the elements that go into a live performance. This class will be comprised of both in-class discussion and rehearsing, leading to a final performance. Lectures, listening, self-evaluation, class critique, and audio and video resources will be used to supplement learning.
