DA 292 Professional Practices

School of Arts and Technology

DA 292 Professional Practices provides students with the essential tools and insight to prepare them for a career in digital arts. Students explore client relationships, self-marketing and promotion, proposal and contract writing, copyright law, project management and business practices. Students will examine their personal and conceptual strengths while developing confidence in their work, and are provided with a supportive environment to improve public speaking and presentation skills.

Prerequisites: DA 210, DA 220, DA 227, DA 224, DA 225 and DA 226 all with a minimum grade of 50%

Corequisite: DA 228, DA 233, DA 266, DA 298

  1. Complete a Request for Proposal (RFP), including budget and timelines
  2. Prepare business documents relevant to Digital Arts
  3. Explain how copy write laws apply to digital media
  4. Speak articulately and confidently about their design work
  5. Design and create a personal visual identity
  6. Deliver classroom presentations
  7. Critically evaluate their design work

A combination of theory-based lecture and context-based demonstration, with regular opportunity for hands-on participation.
