ADMN 269 Information Systems is an introductory course that covers the use of computer-based information systems in management and accounting. After completing this course, students will have the knowledge required to make informed decisions about the applications of information technology. (Adapted from CPA).

Prerequisites: COMM 241 or equivalent with a minimum of 60%

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

Teaching and Learning Approach

The teaching and learning approach in this course will combine theoretical lectures with practical applications, emphasizing real-world relevance. We will explore key concepts in accounting information systems, reinforced through hands-on exercises in Excel, where you'll engage with advanced tools and features. Additionally, the course includes a component on using accounting software, directly linked to real- world scenarios and supported by my professional experience in the industry. This blended approach aims to equip you with both the theoretical understanding and practical skills necessary for success in the field.
