HIST230 Environment and Society

HIST 230 Environment and Society incorporates a wide range of cultural perspectives and resources to examine key topics, themes, and concepts in the field of environmental history within a global context. Through a combination of lectures, discussions, and in-class activities, students will develop their analytical, research, and communication skills as they examine the impacts of humans on the environment over the past 250 years. By reflecting on the relationship between people and the planet in this way, students will gain a greater understanding of the environmental challenges we face today.
