DFAB 202 Subtractive Manufacturing II

School of Arts and Technology

DFAB 202 Subtractive Manufacturing II advances students’ training in CNC manufacturing, building on the knowledge gained in DFAB 108 with a deeper focus on complex wood CNC multipart joinery, multiple tool paths, jigging, and fixturing. Students are introduced to sheet metal design in CAD, waterjet cutting, forming and bending techniques. This course explores design considerations, design constraints, safe machine operation, and tool selection for subtractive manufacturing.

Prerequisites: DFAB 108 with a minimum of 60%
