Overview
Program Summary
The Selkirk College Music program has been preparing students for the commercial music and entertainment industry for over 30 years.
A diverse cross-section of musical styles is offered that allows students to explore the best that each genre has to offer, from rock and blues to jazz, folk and world music. Develop your skills in performance, improvisation, songwriting, composition, film scoring, recording and live sound mixing.
Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion students will be able to:
- multitrack record, overdub, edit, and mix both live ensemble and electronically produced sources.
- multitrack record, overdub, edit, and mix using complex analog and digital audio systems.
- lead a creative project from idea inception to final delivery.
- develop business plans.
- evaluate audio program material.
- make technical and aesthetic decisions based on evaluation of audio program material.

Graduation and Promotion
In order to receive your credential in your program you must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.00.
