IFA 60: Indigenous Fine Arts is under the guidance and mentorship of local Elders, artists, and facilitators, and drawing on the collective knowledge of the participants, the course will explore topics including: colonization, reconciliation, traditional knowledge, and identity, and how these concerns manifest physically and aesthetically in contemporary art practices. Students will become more aware of Indigenous peoples and their ways of knowing, their relationship with community and the land, their history before and after European contact in an arts-based teaching and learning environment.
