CPSC 60 Computer Science - Provincial Level is designed to prepare students for a career or program of studies where logical thought and structured design processes are required. Students will develop problem-solving skills whereby they are able to analyze a problem, devise an algorithm or process to solve the problem, use this process to write a computer implementation of the solution using the Python (or other as appropriate) Programming Language, and test the solution.
This course qualifies for the BC Adult Graduation Diploma.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Identify and analyze a computational problem to specify its inputs and outputs
- Break down the solution of a problem into component modules
- Design the structure of individual modules and document it in structured English (write pseudo code)
- Design an appropriate user interface
- Understand the elements of the Python programming language, including data types, variables, constants, conditional operators, logical operators, loops, and functions
- Implement the solution using the Python programming language
- Test, debug, and document the implementation for future programmers and end-users
