BIOL 165 Human Anatomy and Physiology II is a continuation of Biology 164. This course covers the cardiovascular, respiratory, lymphatic, urinary and digestive systems. Endocrinology is discussed throughout as a means of integrating the various systems to the function of the body as a whole. The focus remains on application of knowledge gained in this course.
Prerequisites: BIOL 164 with a minimum grade of 60%

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Be introduced to, and gain an understanding of, the structure and function of the cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine, lymphatic and urinary systems
- Use and define terminology introduced in class, cite examples where appropriate, and may be required to label and/or draw diagrams of anatomical details or physiological processes
- Effectively integrate and apply the anatomy and physiology of the systems studied to the maintenance of homeostasis within the human body
- Participate in class discussions by making meaningful and relevant comments based upon extra-curricular readings and experiences
Teaching and Learning Approach
The lectures in this course focus on the introduction of concepts and practice in problem-solving strategies.
Students are encouraged to enrich the class by asking questions and offering examples.
The lab provides opportunities to develop hands-on skills and to reinforce the problem-solving strategies
introduced in the lecture.
