BUS 494 Advanced Management Accounting builds on BUS 491 Intermediate Management Accounting to further develop the student's grasp of both the theory and practice with an emphasis on the role of strategy in the overall corporate business policy. Topics include strategy, balanced scorecard, cost allocation, revenue analysis, capital budgeting, transfer pricing and multinational topics.
Prerequisites: BUS 491 with a minimum grade of 60%

Teaching and Learning Approach
This course will be based on practical learning. The type of Accounting that we will be doing is for internal
reporting for Management and is very different from Financial Accounting which has an external focus. We will be
using excel to solve problems.
Students are expected to come to class prepared, so that during lecture, students are ready to approach the
calculations for the first time, building towards independent abilities to complete the homework required.Learning Resources
